USAA Accepting Applications for JOAD Coordinator Position

Colorado Springs, CO - USA Archery is currently accepting applications for the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Coordinator position. This position, which is currently held by Diane Watson, is being transitioned into a full time position based in Colorado Springs, so that USA Archery can better meet the demands of the increased interest in youth archery and associated outreach program growth and development.
 
Diane has been instrumental in the advancement of JOAD club development and will continue her work with USA Archery in assisting with program instruction and events. Diane, a Level 3-NTS Coach, also plans to continue as a team leader as part of USA Archery's International Team Staff.

USA ARCHERY

POSITION TITLE:     JOAD Coordinator

REPORTS TO:          Outreach Director

SUMMARY: 

The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Coordinator leads USA Archery's outreach efforts to promote grassroots archery development by communicating archery program and JOAD club development opportunities to schools, camps, 4-H, Park and Recreation programs, Boy Scouts, state agencies and entry level coaches. The JOAD Coordinator oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the JOAD curriculum and creates appropriate training and program support material. This position also supports and promotes all USA Archery programs, including ASAP, JOAD, JOAD Xperience, JOAD Camps and the Adult Achievement program to current and potential customers.

Program Development

  • Develops and enhances the JOAD curriculum to present a simple, canned approach to starting and running a JOAD club and provide updates to online modules as necessary.
  • Manage JOAD Clubs by tracking current and lapsed charters and initiating their renewals and managing club rosters
  • Develops promotional material for JOAD, JOAD Xperience, Adult Achievement Program and JOAD Camps
  • Ensure that instruction, coaching and club leadership training is available and accessible to JOAD leaders
  • Field and initiate communication related to what the JOAD program is and how to start one
  • Update JOAD club listings on the website
  • Plan, coordinate and manage JOAD camp development and implementation
  • Assist with the management and implementation of the JOAD National Tournament
  • Support USAA staff in providing JOAD customer service
  • Coordinate JOAD camp registration and promotion
  • Plan, develop and coordinate the JOAD Committee annual meeting and communications
  • Provide content to USAA archery staff for inclusion in the JOAD Newsletter
  • Assist in budget development for JOAD
  • Oversee the budget and administration of the JOAD Grant Program
  • Maintain grant records and files

Community Outreach

  • Attend promotional events, tournaments and venues to promote the JOAD program as approved
  • Coordinates and attends outreach trade shows and industry meetings and events to promote instructor training and USA Archery programs
  • Develops, orders and distributes marketing materials for USA Archery programs
  • Assist in market research related to outreach groups and potential partners
  • Assists in making strategic recommendations regarding outreach, curriculum and introductory instructor programs
  • Coordinates modifications, development and publishing of outreach program curriculum and promotional material
  • General communication with outreach groups

General Duties

  • Fields general email and phone call inquiries from outreach and instructor/coach customers
  • Maintains program records and historical data
  • Develops content to maintain JOAD area of website
  • Assists in the coordination and marketing of equipment sales to clubs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Must obtain USA Archery Community Coach Course certification
