Archers, coaches, club leaders and event hosts should refer to the USA Archery Policy for Adaptive and Assistive Equipment when participating in club activities and sanctioned events.
In addition, please refer to the USA Archery Adaptive Archery Resource page for more information including the Adaptive Archery Manual, Video Series and more!
Any OAS club in good standing with a current club membership can sanction a local event with USA Archery. A “local” event sanction with USA Archery simply means a state or national championship will not be awarded. Local competitions can include schools from your district, across the state or other states and are a great way for clubs to fundraise and prepare for state and national competition. The format of the event will be up to the host club.
Optional Formats:
Middle School – Program/Elite – Men/Women
High School – Junior Varsity/Varsity – Men/Women
Middle School Program/High School Junior Varsity
Middle School Elite/High School Varsity
All Divisions
Qualification Round points will contribute to the cumulative calculation where first place is awarded 10 points, second place is 8 points, third place is 6 points, fourth place 5 points, fifth place 4 points, sixth place 3 points, seventh place 2 points, and eighth place 1 point.
Each school is allowed a maximum of three archers earning points for the qualification round. If a school has more than three archers finish in the top eight in the qualification round, only the top three finishes will be included for purposes of point calculations and archers from other institutions will be moved up in points placement (Example: university A has finishers in 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th places. The 7th place archer from University A would not receive points toward team championship calculation, the archer in 8th place would receive 7th place points, and the archer in 9th place would receive 8th place points).
Per division, the top three finishing scores from each school will be combined. The resulting combined score will be ranked amongst the rest of the scores in the respective divisions (Barebow/Recurve/Basic Compound/Compound, Program/Junior Varsity, Men/Women).
Combined Team Ranking placement points will contribute to the cumulative calculation where first place is awarded 10 points, second place is 8 points, third place is 6 points, fourth place 5 points, fifth place 4 points, sixth place 3 points, seventh place 2 points, and eighth place 1 point.
All Elite/Varsity divisions (Barebow, Recurve, Basic Compound, and Compound), male/female (calculated separately), can earn an Overall State Team Championship Award. Calculation is based on the total cumulative points (individual event and team event points combined) of each division.
Each school is allowed a maximum of three archers earning points for individual eliminations and one team in team eliminations. If a school has more than three archers finish in the top eight in the individual event, only the top three finishes will be included for purposes of point calculations and archers from other institutions will be moved up in points placement (Example: university A has finishers in 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th places. The 7th place archer from University A would not receive points toward team championship calculation, the archer in 8th place would receive 7th place points, and the archer in 9th place would receive 8th place points).
Individual archers competing for a school are not eligible for the Overall Elite and Varsity State Team Championship (fewer than 3 athletes).
In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by the highest number of total 10s shot by the ranked individual. If still tied, the highest number of 9s will be used to break the tie.
For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied ((3+2)/2 = 2.5pts each).
In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by the highest number of total 10s shot by the ranked individual. If still tied, the highest number of 9s will be used to break the tie.
For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied ((3+2)/2 = 2.5 pts. each).
Overall State Team Champions will be determined by the highest cumulative points total (individual and combined team of the top 3 archers per school). Should a tie occur, the school with the highest number of 10s shot will be used to break the tie. If still tied, the school with the highest number of 9s will be used to break the tie. Should a tie still exist, those schools will share the team state championship title as co-state champions.
Archers/Teams in preceding matches who did not advance are ranked within the round in which they lost, (i.e. quarterfinals ranked 5th-8th) then by the total score of the last match. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by the highest number of total 10s shot in the preceding match. If still tied, the highest number of 9s will be used to break the tie. Should the archers/teams remain tied, the combined ranking points of all tied positions will be added together and divided by the number of archers/teams in the tied positions.
For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied ((3+2)/2 = 2.5pts each).
Archers/Teams in preceding matches who did not advance are ranked within the round in which they lost, (i.e. quarterfinals ranked 5th-8th) then by set points from the preceding match. If tied with set points, archers/teams are then ranked by the total raw score from the last match. If still tied, the highest number of 10s will be used to break the tie. If still tied, the highest number of 9s will be used to break the tie. Should the archers/teams remain tied, the combined ranking points of all the tied positions will be added together and divided by the number of archers/teams in the tied positions.
For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied ((3+2)/2 = 2.5 pts. each).
Overall State Team Champions will be determined by the highest cumulative points total for all events (individual and team). Should a tie occur, the school with the highest number of first place finishes across individual and team events will be declared the winner. Should a tie remain, the school with highest number of second place finishes will be declared the winner. Should a tie remain, then the school with highest number of third place finishes will be declared the winner. Should a tie still exist, those schools will share the team state championship title as co-state champions.
