From first-timers to seasoned champions, USA sending a strong squad to the Pan American Youth and Masters Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – When the 2026 Pan American Youth and Masters Championships begin in Medellín, Colombia at the end of May, the USA will arrive with energy, experience and a remarkable span of generations.

In all, 48 archers have been named to the USA's roster, with ages ranging from 13 to 76, illustrating the sport’s rare ability to unite competitors across decades on the same shooting line.

At the youngest end of the roster is Tucker Craig (below), while the most seasoned member is Rick Stonebraker, who will celebrate his birthday on May 22 - the very day archers begin to arrive in South America for the five-day championship.

Tucker’s journey to the international stage began early.

“We never imagined when he picked up a compound bow at just three years old that 10 short years later we would be traveling to other countries representing Team USA for archery,” said his proud mom, Shannon.

United States archers will compete across barebow, compound and recurve disciplines, with divisions spanning U15, U18, U21 and 50+.

Another rising talent on the roster is Maverick Lewis, who will compete in compound U18 men.

“First and foremost, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of my mom,” he said. “She is always my number one supporter and cheerleader. I cannot wait to represent Team USA and wear my official jersey. This a dream come true.”

For several athletes, the trip to Colombia will mark more than an international competition - it will be their first time representing the United States and their first journey outside the country.

Among them is 14-year-old Mattingly Walker, a bronze medalist from the recent 57th USA Archery Indoor Nationals in compound U15 women. She will travel with her father, Mike, who first introduced her to archery when she was just three years old.

“I’m just excited to tag along and see where she goes from here,” her dad told their local NBC affiliate, WTWO out of Indiana.

The roster also features the husband-and-wife pairing of Johannes and Samantha Gildenhuys (pictured), both competing in barebow 50+. Johannes collected three silver medals and a bronze across last year’s four events in the USAT Qualifier Series, while Samantha also stepped onto the podium during the season.

The barebow 50+ division will be particularly strong for the United States. Jim O’Shea, silver medalist at the Rebel Gear Buckeye Classic, Easton Foundations Gator Cup gold medalist Melissa McAvoy, and Buckeye Classic champion Michelle O’Donnell are also named to the team.

In recurve 50+ men, the lineup includes Mark Hainline and Mark Williams, both gold medalists during the 2025 USAT Qualifier Series, alongside fellow medalists Ali Gungoraydinoglu and Ted Holland.

The recurve 50+ women’s team features Janis Grellner (pictured above), champion at both the 2025 Gator Cup and Buckeye Classic, together with two-time medalist Jamie McCarrison.

The youth divisions are packed with standout performers from last year’s USAT Qualifier Series. These include Joseph Diesta (Buckeye Classic gold, recurve U21 men), Elizabeth Ahn (Buckeye Classic gold, recurve U21 women), three-time recurve U21 women medalist Eliana Son, double bronze medalist Andrea Ciotinga, and Buckeye Classic runner-up, Madelyn Yi.

Nicholas Kim, who earned one gold and two silvers in the USAT Qualifier Series for recurve U18 men, also makes the roster, alongside two-time medalist Jack Chen. In recurve U18 women, Yeshaswini Tati and Amy Lee captured gold and silver respectively during the series.

Compound competition at the youth level includes USAT Qualifier Series silver medalists Daniel Anderson (U21 men), LeeAna Burley (pictured below), Elyse Matus, Zoie Thompson (all U21 women), and Gracelyn Sinclair (U18 women).

In barebow U21 men, Keegan Benton (pictured) arrives after winning gold at both the Gator Cup and Buckeye Classic. He is joined on the roster by Buckeye Classic bronze medalist Nicholas Powell. The barebow youth lineup also features Pranav Sanjay in U18 men, a two-time bronze medalist in the USAT Qualifier Series.

Several youth archers also bring fresh success from the USA Archery Indoor Nationals, including gold medalists Paige Lee (recurve U15 women), Abigail Abraham (recurve 60+ women), and Sykes Lamensdorf (barebow U18 men), along with Anirudhkalyan Pinjala (recurve U15 men).

Competition begins May 24 with qualification rounds for the U15, U18 and 50+ divisions, and concludes with individual gold medal finals on May 28, where Team USA will look to turn a diverse and talented roster into podium moments on the international stage.

When this event was last held, in El Salvador two years, the USA team finished top of the medals table with 12 gold, eight silver and four bronze. Looking to win medals at back-to-back Pan American Youth and Masters Championships will be Ayana Butt, Janis Grellner, Liam Lee and Melissa McAvoy.
