EASTON SPORTS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION PROVIDES USA ARCHERY WITH $307,000 IN GRANTS

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Nearly one month after USA Archery's restructured board announced a comprehensive change management strategy; the organization began reaching out to strategic partners like the Easton Foundation for help with much needed reorganization funding.

"It is always difficult during times of dynamic change to find partners who share your vision and are willing to invest in the future," says USA Archery's chairman of the board, Bill Corbin. "Jim Easton is known for his passion for archery and we are fortunate to have the generous support of Jim and his Foundation. Jim and his Foundation board members share our sense of urgency to be competitive in future Olympiads and to jump start grassroots programs. We are grateful for the commitment shown by this significant financial contribution."

The Easton Sports Development Foundation (Easton Foundation) was established by Jim Easton primarily to support archery programs. "One of the goals of the Easton Foundation is to educate and expose as many people as possible to the lifetime sport of archery," said Foundation board member, Erik Watts. "We think there is no greater promotional tool than for the United States to be successful in winning medals in the Olympic Games and to have a

strong national organization. We are excited about the positive changes occurring at USA Archery, and we want to support the organization and its leadership to help make it possible."

Denise Parker, acting CEO, says the funding couldn't come at a better time.  "We have so many positive things coming together at one time. This funding allows us to get started immediately on hiring key personnel and providing much needed grassroots program support."

The grant is broken up into two types of funding.  The first is $137,000 of restricted funding directed to College Archery Programs while the balance of $170,000 is unrestricted funding that USA Archery can use at its discretion.
