USA Archery is proud to announce the 2009 Coach Education Grant program

USA Archery is proud to announce the 2009 Coach Education Grant program.

CEO Denise Parker has placed coaching development as one of her highest priorities over the next quadrennial. The implementation of the USAA certification program is a cornerstone of the coach development plan.

In a joint effort utilizing USA Archery, JOAD and USA College Archery Program (CAP) funding provided by the Easton Foundations, we are excited to be able to ease the transition by offering coaches an opportunity to subsidize the cost of certification into the new USAA Coach Certification Program. The funding is open to all coaches; priority for funding will be given to coaches who have active programs, with key emphasis on JOAD and College programs.

The Education Grant program will cover course fees ($250 - $450) and help offset travel costs (up to $100) to Community Coach and Transition Regional Coach Courses for approximately 80 instructors and coaches. Prior approval is required and reimbursement will be provided after completion of the course.

JOAD Coach Criteria:

  • Coaches must have an active JOAD Program
  • Coaches must be at least an Intermediate (L2) Certified USAA Coach.
  • Coaching Certification must be current
  • JOAD Club and Individual USAA memberships must be current
  • There is no minimum JOAD club size requirement
  • Funding is available for Community and Regional Coach Courses only

College Coach Criteria:

  • Coaches must have been on the CAP roster as of 1 March 2009
  • CAP Club and Individual USAA memberships must be current
  • Coaching Certification must be current (not applicable if attending an Intermediate class)
  • There is no minimum club size requirement
  • Must be approved by the College Archery Program
  • The CAP will pay up to $60 for eligible coaches who choose to attend Intermediate certification if they are not eligible for the Community Coach certification.

Club/Private Coach Criteria:

  • Must have a current athlete training program involving 10 or more students
  • Coaches must be at least an Intermediate (L2) Certified USAA Coach
  • Coaching Certification must be current
  • JOAD Club and Individual USAA memberships must be current
  • Priority will be given to coaches who can demonstrate past success of athletes (i.e., Jr/Sr USAT, Olympians, World Team members, etc)
  • Priority will be given to coaches who work with multiple athletes and multiple disciplines on a regular basis

This opportunity is available for 2009, which means there has never been a better time to get your certifications in place.  We hope you take advantage of this great opportunity.
