First-Ever Berlin Open Offers International Competition, Cash Prizes

The first-ever Berlin Open, an international tournament event hosted by the SG Bermannn Borsig e.V. Sports Club, will begin on December 17. This two-day tournament will offer archers from across the globe the opportunity to compete for prizes totaling over 20,000 Euros; cash prizes will be awarded for 1st through 8th places. 

According to Berlin Open organizers, "the Qualifying (2 x 30 arrows 18 m) round as well as the Final (starting from 1/16) will be shot in sets. If there is a tie for 32nd place, the ninth and tenth rings will be are decisive to enter the final round. The event will adhere to FITA indoor tournament rules, and is record-entitled."

Those competitors who do not reach the final round of the best 32 will compete in the "Second Chance" Final, in which they will compete for non-cash prizes. According to Martin Federlein, President of SG Bergmann Borsig e.V., "I would like to welcome you to this tournament. Renowned partners have joined us to make it a successful event. This might be the first archery tournament we are hosting, but our organizers are doing everything they can to make it an unforgettable sporting event that we plan to turn into an annual highlight."
