2019 National Symposium Speaker Spotlight: Chang-Hyun Ko, M.S., Developing Resiliency

The definition of Resiliency is an ability to recover from or adjust easily to adversity or change. This ability to adjust and overcome is one of the key abilities to being successful in any sport including archery. Join Chang-Hyun Ko, M.S. at USA Archery’s 2019 National Symposium in Houston, Texas October 18-20. Chang, a Human Performance expert, believes in the potential that lies in an individual’s ability to change and utilizes his background in Human Performance and Psychology to help coaches and athletes better understand how to develop resiliency, mental toughness and ultimately elevate performance.

By age 10, Chang already lived in 3 different continents and experienced a variety of cultures that gave him the drive to think boldly and be daring in his aspirations. While working with youth populations dealing with behavior disorders at a community counseling center in the city of Chicago, Chang realized his passion for elevating people’s potential regardless of current limitations.

After receiving his Master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from Florida State University he started his career in Performance Psychology and now works as a Human Performance expert for the Army Human Performance Group. Chang’s areas of focus are on cognitive aspects of human performance including decision making, influence, performance culture, and sleep.
