USA Men Win Team World 3D Champion Title

ROBION, France - The World Archery 3D Championships concluded today with all finals matches. The USA men's team of Dewayne Martin, Calvin Smock and Dalton Richardson competed for team gold.

The World Archery 3D team round features one compound, one longbow, and one either instinctive or barebow athlete per team. They shoot one arrow each at four different targets with cumulative scoring to determine a winner.

The USA men opened up one point, 27-26 over the trio from Spain. Then, a 5 in the second end put them three points down for a 52-50 advantage to Spain. On the third target, the U.S. opened with an 8 followed by another 5 and then a 10. Spain answered with three 8s for another point in their favor. With just three arrows to go, USA shot very strong with an 8, 10 and 11 and Spain responded with a strong 10, but followed with a missed arrow. Not even an 11 could close the gap, but with a final arrow in the 10, USA took the gold and world champion title win 102-95!
