CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Among the archers heading to Korea for the World Archery Para Championships (September 22-28) will be Paralympic gold medalist Jason Tabansky.
Tabansky was a late addition to the lineup at the Paris Games in 2024 and went on to win gold on his Paralympic debut. The 41-year-old from Texas has previously competed at the World Archery Para Championships in 2019 and 2023.
Others coming through the U.S. trials at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence on Monday morning also have previous experience at the World Archery Para Championships, among them KJ Polish. Polish was a bronze medal winner at the previous edition, in the Czech Republic in 2023, when competing alongside Matt Stutzman in compound open men doubles.
Wendy Gardner was a member of the 2023 team, as were Tracy Otto, Candice Caesar and Karen Sternfeld. Otto has since made her Paralympic debut, competing alongside Tabansky, Polish and Jordan White in Paris last year. White finished top in recurve open men after the trials.
Caesar and Gardner were also on the team for the 2022 World Archery Para Championships, which took place in Dubai.
