Recurve mixed team Kaufhold and Ellison to battle for World Cup gold in Turkey

ANTALYA, Turkey – The USA will be targeting quadruple gold as we waltz into the weekend after Casey Kaufhold and Brady Ellison booked a spot in Sunday’s final of the recurve mixed team at the Archery World Cup Stage 1.

By the time Kaufhold and Ellison step to the line on Sunday, the USA will already have competed in medal matches. The compound men’s team of Braden Gellenthien, James Lutz and Sawyer Sullivan face Denmark on Saturday in the gold medal match.

The women's trio of Madison Cox, Cassidy Cox and Danelle Lutz will seek to start the day in style as they tackle Colombia. That is followed by the semifinals of the compound men’s event, in which Sullivan meets Mike Schloesser of the Netherlands.

Day four of the World Cup Stage 1 began with Kaufhold and Ellison defeating the Czech Republic 5-3 in the round of eight. This was followed by a 6-0 win over Poland, and then a 6-2 semifinal success over Spain, to set up a gold medal meeting with Chinese Taipei.

Chinese Taipei’s route to the final involved victory over number one seeded China in the quarterfinals, and then host nation Turkey in the last four.
