COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery has named the collegiate athletes who excel as both archers and students in recognizing the recipients of the 2025 All-American Academic Team Award.
The Collegiate Archery Program gives archers a chance to compete nationwide with peers who also maintain a rigorous academic schedule. This esteemed award acknowledges not just excellence in archery, but also the diligence and dedication needed to manage a demanding practice and competition regimen, while excelling academically.
Trenton Cowles of Texas A&M University is among those named to the 2025 All-American Academic Team. Cowles, who took gold at the Easton Foundations Gator Cup last month, commented “Balancing academics and archery at the highest level takes passion and commitment. Time management is essential when preparing for national and international competitions, exams, and projects.
“I’ve spent late nights studying and full days training, and I’m proud to represent Texas A&M as both a student and an athlete. I’m also incredibly grateful for the support system that allows me to pursue excellence in the classroom and on the field."
The All-American Academic Team is composed of archers in each division and class and based on the following criteria:
USA Archery takes the top 25% (ranked by score) of each division and class from U.S. National Indoor Championships. Archers that are in the top 25% and who meet the minimum GPA will earn a spot on the team. Those named to the team will receive a certificate from USA Archery commemorating their achievements.
Collegiate Target Nationals, in partnership with the Lansing Sports Commission, will be hosted by Michigan State University from May 15-18, and will showcase these outstanding student-athletes.
Gold medal matches in both individual and teams will be broadcast live on May 18, scheduled for 8am and 3pm EDT respectively.
