COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The 2026 USA Archery Indoor Nationals and JOAD Indoor Nationals enter their busiest stretch of the season this week, with competition scheduled across six states and archers continuing to chase national titles and leaderboard positioning.
The action begins in Newberry, Florida, where competitors will shoot Feb. 5–8. That is followed by four simultaneous events Feb. 6–8 in Chula Vista, California (the second of three visits this season), College Station, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah and Yankton, South Dakota. The week wraps up with competition Feb. 7–8 in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.
The packed slate comes on the heels of four earlier stops, beginning with Arizona in the first weekend of January and followed by events in California, Washington and Kentucky. Through four of the 18 total events in this year’s Indoor Nationals calendar, new names and shifting leaderboards have emerged, signaling an open and competitive season across divisions.
In Owensboro, Kentucky, where the fourth stop took place Jan. 30–Feb. 1, several fresh faces vaulted into national contention. In compound men, Dillon Thompson leads with a score of 1,189, followed closely by Isaac Sullivan and Lawson Veit, each posting 1,186.
Alexis Ruiz remains the frontrunner in compound women on a score of 1,183, though the leaderboard tightened with several within striking distance.
In recurve, youthful talent such as Christopher Sprain and Minhyuk Song climbed into the top rankings. Ava Jones turned heads by topping both recurve and barebow women categories in Owensboro. Her score of 544 (single round) in barebow was a new U21 women’s world record, and with it a new national record!
Jones also set national records for barebow U21 women 18m double round and barebow senior women 18m double round!
Two national records fell in fixed pins. Boston Shelley, 13, shot a remarkable 1,187 in fixed pins U15 men, which included a new best single round score of 594, while Brayden Craft scored an incredible 599 in U18 men.
This year’s 57th edition of the Indoor Nationals tour spans 16 states with 18 events, with Chula Vista hosting three times, and includes stops later this month in California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Illinois, Virginia, Mississippi and Michigan.
There will not be a USA Archery Indoor Nationals Final in 2026, but rather prize money will be distributed based on the final combined results from all Indoor Nationals locations for each gender and division (bow type). Previously, prize money has been for those in the top six. For 2026, there will be prize money for the top 10.
Archers will still receive medals for the National Championship titles by division but will have additional opportunity to earn prize money as well.
New for 2026, JOAD clubs will have the opportunity to compete in the JOAD Indoor Nationals Club Team Championship. Check out the Format and Rules document for details!
