USA Archery Announces JOAD Grant Recipients

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery is pleased to announce that eight Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Clubs have received funds thanks to Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants. The awardees are:

  • Chesterfield Golden Arrow Archers
  • Florida Archery Foundation
  • Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Green Arrows
  • Island Archers
  • Music City Archers
  • New Castle 100 Archers
  • Pioneer JOAD
  • Ten Point Tips

JOAD Clubs in good standing can request grant funds for items such as target stands, archery equipment, general supplies and coaching certifications.  The intent of the grant is long-term equipment usage and club development.

Michael Lundeen, head coach at the Florida Archery Foundation, noted that their club was grateful to receive this support: "All of the club members want to thank you for generously supporting our program with a grant this year!  We will now be able to complete our 70 meter outdoor range, and purchase some much needed intermediate archery equipment.  With your help, our young program will be able to continue on its path to success."

Island Archers JOAD Club agreed; their coach, Scott Tuchel, spoke to club growth: "This grant will provide a significant boost to the sport of archery in our area. We will now be able to accept more archers into our JOAD club and also be able to help them develop in the sport in ways that we were not able to in the past. As a result of this financial support, there will be more kids pursuing and living up to their archery dreams in the state of Washington."

The second, and final, round of Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant applications for 2015 will be due on August 15, 2015.  Click here to access grant rules and the application form.
