2025 Northern Region Target Championship, a.k.a. Glow in the Cornfield

The Northern Region Target Championship, a.k.a. Glow in the Cornfield, Duel in the Cornfield, and Battle for the Mason-Dixon will be held at Goebel Soccer Complex in Evansville, Indiana on July 4 through 6, 2025. The cost for this event is $100.00. This will be a two-day Star FITA on Saturday and Sunday preceded by open practice and a Team Event, Under the Lights, the "Glow in the Cornfield" on Friday evening.

Again, this year, the Indiana S3DA will be joining us as they will hold their State Tournament on Saturday, July 5. We very were successful last year in introducing those young archers to USA Archery. The first 6 ends will be their tournament. Following the completion of the first 720 round, S3DA will hold their shoot-off with the top archers in each division.

We invite them to join us for the entire weekend!  

As last year, the Northern Region is inviting those from South of the Mason-Dixon line to also participate. 

The format for the three events is as follows:

North Region Target Championship: Star FITA, two-day, 72 arrow event each day. Winners will be chosen from highest scores. All Divisions and Classes welcome. Field opens at 8:00 AM CDST both days. Equipment inspection Saturday at 9:15 AM CDST. First practice end 10:00 AM CDST on Saturday and 8:30 AM CDST on Sunday.

Duel in the Cornfield: Day one of the North Region Target Championship. We will take the two highest compound, recurve, and barebow scores from each participating State, they will compose the State’s Team, the top three Teams will be awarded trophies. The winning State will take home the Traveling Trophy currently held by Illinois.

The Battle for the Mason-Dixon: Day one of the North Region Target Championship. We will take the two highest compound, recurve, and barebow scores from the North Region and the same for those from the South. Team awards will then be presented based on win or place.

Glow in the Cornfield: Friday evening, July 4.7:30 PM CDST start. This is a “for fun shoot”.  3 Archer Teams (put your own team together), six ends will be shot to establish ranking with head-to-head competition to follow. 3 archers/team; 2 arrows/archer; 80 cm target (TA 6x80) @ 30 meters, 2 targets per bale (butt); Pay at the door $20 per Team. Compounds to use the inner X, recurve and fixed pins to use the outer X.
