East River Recurve Blind Draw

  This is a blind draw, double elimination archery tournament. East River Archery H.S. guarantees every entrant at least three Olympic style elimination matches. We will create a consolation tournament with all of the archers who get put out after two matches from the main tournament. We will also have a try archery area where people under the supervision of archery instructors, can try to shoot different distances. Throughout the day we may have pop up mini-tournaments or friendly matches at Olympic distances. 

 Blind Draw Tournament example: 40 archers 

  We have a 40 archer bracket with a number in each bracket, then place matching numbers in a hat. Archers will draw their number from a hat and then place their name in the bracket matching that number. Everyone will get 2 official warm up ends at the beginning of the tournament.  There will be a winners and loser bracket, so someone with 1 loss can battle back to a championship match and beat that person 2x and win it all! We can easily run 10 matches at a time. 

Time: 2 minutes 

Arrows: 3 per end

18 meter indoor distance and 40cm target, shot outdoors.

Scoring: Win = 2 pt., Tie = 1 pt., Loss = 0 pt.

Tie: 5pt. - 5pt. = 1 arrow shoot off

Win = 6 pt. +
