2025 Level 4 Coach Online Course

The Level 4 Course supports the continued development of high-quality archery coaches in the USA and beyond. The course content, activities, and assessments are designed to increase a) participant understanding of the sport-specific technical details of the National Training System and b) ability to apply evidence-based how-to-coach skills to enhance skill acquisition and retention in athletes. While the course develops coaches capable of developing high performing athletes for national and international competition, the content is applicable from beginner through elite.

The Level 4 Course has two parts. First, an online asynchronous course must be passed before being eligible for part two. Part two involves synchronous Zoom-based sessions and is referred to as "the practical course". Register for the practical course after passing the Level 4 Online Course.

During this course, coaches will learn and demonstrate competency in the following areas:

• NTS Compound and NTS Recurve 
• Athlete-Centered Coaching Model 
• Situation Profile
• Skill Analysis
• Evidence-Based Practice
• Motor Learning Theory
• Crafting practice plans
• Reflection techniques

Level 4 Certification Eligibility

• 20 years of age or older by the time the Level 4 Practical Assessment is conducted.
• Must hold Level 3 certification for at least 8 months to be eligible to register for the Level 4 Practical course.
• Level 4 candidates who earned a Level 3 Certification prior to April 1, 2022, must register for and complete the current Level 3 Online Coach Course prior to registering for the Level 4 Online Course.
• Membership to USA Archery* or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)
• USA Archery Background Screening
• U.S. Center for SafeSport Training
• Must complete the online modules for the course and pass the online exam
• Must pass a practical examination that assesses how-to-coach skills as well as technical knowledge, understanding, and application of National Training System

Certification Period

• Three years from the date the certification is awarded by USA Archery

• Select "Add" to the right of your name
• Follow the prompts to check out
• You will see "Complete" next to your name when registration is done

After that you will access the course and will need to complete the online course prior to registering for the practical course. Determine if you are in the full screen view or minimized mobile view. If you are in the full screen view, you will see a column of options on the left. If your screen is minimized, on a tablet or mobile device you will see the mobile view.

To Access Online Courses 

Follow these steps once you are logged into your account:

• Select "Access Online Courses" from the far-left menu.
• You will be automatically redirected to the USA Archery Education Hub to access and complete your course.

Please note that once you complete the online course, you will need to register for the Practical Course. Unlike Level 1 and 2 Instructor or Level 3 Coach Courses, the Level 4 Coach Practical Course is only run by USA Archery. Once you complete and pass the Level 4 Online Course, register for the Level 4 Practical Course. 

Refund Policy

• Refunds requested prior to the start of the course will be provided for the registration fee minus any Stripe Processing fees. Refunds will not be provided after a course has been started.
