Scouting America NCS Level 1 Instructor Practical

Online Course Completion required prior to the start of this session.
Your instructor will provide details for the online portion prior to the class.

The USA Archery Practical course will be held on Thursday, March 26th from 9:00am to 3pm at Philmont Scout Ranch Training Center during the NCS training program. Driving directions to PTC are  32 Orchard Circle, Cimarron, NM 87717.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a USA Archery Level 1 Certified Instructor

The Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high-level of safety both on and off the archery range and ensure that minimum standards for archery instruction are consistently taught to provide for the safety and enjoyment of the participants, instructors and spectators.

Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings in the disciplines of target, field or 3-D archery. The Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans.

Supplies Required

• All attendees must bring a signed BSA Health Form Parts A & B. Participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian signature as well
• Adults 18 and older must bring proof of current Youth Protection Training (YPT)or the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) - this can be completed via my.scouting.org
• Appropriate clothing  - shooting exercises will be conducted Inside at the CAP Archery Range
• Water Bottle, snacks and any medical supplies necessary.
• Pen/pencil/highlighter to take notes.

Do NOT bring any Bows or arrows! These will be provided as necessary.

Meals: Are provided.

Cost - All fees are covered in the NCS tuition. You will receive a discount code to be used when sign up at USA Archery, per instructions previously provided.
