Level 2 Archery Instructor Practical -- Schmidt

USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Practical

USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Practical is an in-person course and is only taken after successfully completing the USA Archery Online Level 2 Instructor Training.

The USA Archery Instructor Practical is designed to enable the Level 2 Instructor candidate to demonstrate those archery skills required to be a Certified Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor.  Candidates will be required to demonstrate:

Level 1 Skills

  • ·         Practical application of Range Safety (indoor and outdoor)
  • ·         Ability to safely shoot a bow and arrow
  • ·         Capable to teach basic archery skills
  • ·         Show a working knowledge of the steps to shooting, able to explain each step to the shot process, and to be able to demonstrate.
  • ·         Ability to employee direct feedback and indirect feedback methods

Level 2 Skills

  • ·         Ability to outfit an archer with equipment and accessories
  • ·         Demonstrate and explain the National Training System Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound
  • ·         Knowledge of equipment setup and accessories
  • ·         Demonstrate the ability to conduct and lead a class archery session and instruct an individual archer session.
  • ·         All instructor candidates are required to actively participate in every session of the practical and to be prepared to demonstrate basic level of archery shooting proficiency.

Level 2 Instructor candidates must attend the morning Level 1 practical sessions and the afternoon Level 2 practical sessions to be eligible for certification.

Pre-registration is a requirement, and no one will be admitted to the course one day prior to the course start date.

Please bring your own equipment or your program equipment.  If you do not have access to archery equipment, please inform the practical instructor so arrangements for having equipment available can be made.

Course Information

Course Date: April 18, 2026

Course Start Time: 8:00 AM (Please arrive at least 15 minutes before session starts)

Course End Time: 5:00 PM

Certification Period: Three years from the date of course completion

Level 2 instructor candidates must fully participate and successfully complete all sections of the Level 1 and Level 2 Practical to complete the USA Archery Level 2 Certification requirements.

All course participants must attend both the morning Level 1 and afternoon Level 2 sessions.

All Course participants must bring archery equipment and a lunch for the day

  • ·         Successfully passed the USA Archery Online Instructor Training with a minimum score of 75%
  • ·         Membership to USA Archery or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)
  • ·         U.S. Center for SafeSport Training

  • ·         Membership to USA Archery or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) or Archery Association of America (ASA)
  • ·         USA Archery Background Screening
  • ·         U.S. Center for SafeSport Training
