Scouting Colorado Level 1 Instructor Practical

Online Course Completion required prior to the start of this session.

The Practical course will be held on Sunday, November 1st from 9:00am to 4pm at Hamilton Scout Headquarters, located at 10455 W. 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80215 in the Colorado Adventure Point (CAP) Blue room.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a USA Archery Level 1 Certified Instructor

The Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high-level of safety both on and off the archery range and ensure that minimum standards for archery instruction are consistently taught to provide for the safety and enjoyment of the participants, instructors and spectators.

Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings in the disciplines of target, field or 3-D archery. The Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans.

Supplies Required

• All attendees must bring a signed BSA Health Form Parts A & B. Participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian signature as well
• Adults 18 and older must bring proof of current Youth Protection Training (YPT)or the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) - this can be completed via my.scouting.org
• Appropriate clothing  - shooting exercises will be conducted Inside at the CAP Archery Range
• Water Bottle, snacks and any medical supplies necessary.
• Pen/pencil/highlighter to take notes.

Do NOT bring any Bows or arrows! These will be provided as necessary. 

Lodging: None Required

Meals: No food or drink is provided, Please bring your own drinks/lunch/snacks/etc. for the class.

Location: 10455 W. 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80215 in the Colorado Adventure Point (CAP) Blue room. Park on the west side of the building, come in the CAP entrance and go up the stairs immediately after entering on the right side. The blue room is located past the archery range (green curtains) on the right.

Cost - $90 full price or $45 discounted Paid on the Council Calendar signup. Note an additional $40 cost to USA Archery is required for the online portion of the course. If you are taking this for camp staff, please pay the $40 for the online portion and bring your receipt to be reimbursed by camp. For camp staff only, the $90/$45 fee will be paid by the camp.
