This course will provide the four hour practical instruction and demonstration of understanding required to complete USA Archery's Level 1 instructor certification. Level 1 certification is frequently required to supervise archery for camps and scouting programs. The course will include five modules: (1) Range Set-Up and Safety, (2) Outfitting a Class With Equipment, (3) Teaching the National Training System Steps of Shooting-Recurve Bow, (4) Teaching the First Archery Class and Try Archery, (5) Introduction to Coaching Techniques.
The course will take place from 12:30-4:30PM EST at the Guilford Sportsmen's Association, Hart Rd, Guilford, CT 06437. The GSA is at the very end of Hart Rd. Drive until you get to the club gate and proceed down the driveway to the clubhouse. We will meet at the clubhouse before going to the range.
