GWANGJU, Korea – The Hyundai World Archery Championships have concluded in Korea, with the USA heading home with two team silvers and a joint-fourth finish on the medals table.
Compound women got the ball rolling with team silver, courtesy of Olivia Dean, Alexis Ruiz and Sydney Sullenberger. The recurve men of Trenton Cowles, Brady Ellison and Christian Stoddard followed.
On an individual level, Curtis Broadnax grabbed fourth in compound men, with Ellison fifth in recurve men. Ellison lost his quarterfinal contest to Matteo Borsani (ITA) in a shootoff. Casey Kaufhold was the last USA archer to compete, on the final day of the event. She went out in the 1/8 stage of recurve women to Diananda Choirunisa (INA).
The recurve women’s team of Catalina GNoriega, Casey Kaufhold and Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez had earlier managed fifth, as did the compound men’s team of Broadnax, Grady Kane and James Lutz. Mucino-Fernandez and Stoddard claimed seventh in recurve mixed team.

The Korean city also hosts the World Archery Para Championships. They run from September 22-28.
