GWANGJU, Korea – Christian Stoddard can add World Archery Championships silver to the gold he won at the World Archery Youth Championships last month after Wednesday’s action in Gwangju.
The 19-year-old was part of the recurve men’s team, which also included five-time Olympian Brady Ellison and Youth Olympic gold medalist Trenton Cowles, that took silver behind hosts Korea. He won gold with Joshua Baek and Jack Krengel in Canada at the World Youth Championships, beating Korea in the final match.
Ellison, meanwhile, remains in the individual competition and will take on Berkim Tumer (TUR) in the last 16. That match is scheduled for 7.38pm MT on Wednesday and can be seen on archery+ (subscription required).
The recurve women elimination matches get underway from 6.15pm MT (Wednesday), starting with the 1/48 round. Catalina GNoriega meets Janna Hawash (CAN), Casey Kaufhold faces Pia Elizabeth Angela Bidaure (PHI), while Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez will play Yuk Hei Poon (HKG).
You can follow the schedule and keep up with all the scores and results from Gwangju.
