COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - There are now more than 60 new names at the top of the various leaderboards following the busiest weekend of the 57th USA Archery Indoor Nationals and 2026 JOAD Indoor Nationals.
Hundreds of archers were in action across six states and so change among the medal positions was inevitable. The rush of events took us beyond the midway point of the 2026 edition. Of the 18 events, eight remain, with the next stop being Lancaster, Pa. over Valentine’s weekend.
Olympian Catalina GNoriega now leads the way in recurve women following a score of 1162 in College Station, Texas. She is followed by Alex Zuleta-Visser (1142), with Laurel Anderson (1139) – who registered the top score at the first event in Arizona at the start of the year – now occupying third.
Compound men now has two new names at the top, with Kyle Douglas (1195) and Sawyer Sullivan (1193) overtaking Dillon Thompson, who sat in first position after shooting 1189 the previous weekend in Kentucky.
Zackary Bisinger scored 1096 points in barebow men at the event in Yankton, S.D., enough to overtake Robby Weissinger (1092) – another who had set the pace in week one.
The husband and wife of Thomas and Kathleen Stevenson posted leading scores in their respective recurve 60+ categories, while six archers topped the previous best score in compound 60+ men.
Samantha Gildenhuys sits atop the leaderboard in barebow 50+ women. Her score of 959 was just one better than the new second-placed archer, Michelle O’Donnell. Carla de la Paz’s score of 906 is good enough for third.
In the para division, there are three new names leading in compound men, as 2016 Paralympic gold medalist Andre Shelby fired down 1130, just one point and one place ahead of Keith Sekora, with Steven Holbert in the bronze medal spot.
Candice Caesar narrowly leads para recurve women after this past weekend. Her 877 score in Texas was one better than the 876 achieved by Jani Merritt in Newberry, Fla.
Catalina Bustamante is the new leader in para compound women, as is Ryan Lindstrom in W1 men/women combined, while Jordan White posted the top score in para recurve men.
From the JOAD Indoor Nationals, highlights include a new top five in recurve U15 women, a new top four in compound U21 men and a new top three in barebow U18 men.
There will not be a USA Archery Indoor Final in 2026, but rather prize money will be distributed based on the final combined results from all Indoor Nationals locations for each gender and division (bow type). Previously, prize money has been for those in the top six. For 2026, there will be prize money for the top 10.
Archers will still receive medals for the National Championship titles by division but will have additional opportunity to earn prize money as well.
