USA Takes Bronze, Head to Gold Medal Matches

Santiago, Chile – Day 5 of the 2022 Pan Am and Para Pan Am Championships did not disappoint. Team USA Archery won bronze and will head into Para and Team Finals today. Para Pan Am events will wrap-up today with individual finals and Pan Am events have team finals today with mixed team and individual finals tomorrow.

Team USA Archery brought home 3 more bronze medals. USA Eric Bennett won bronze for Recurve Men Open after beating Brazil’s Luciano Rezende in a tight match. USA Wendy Gardner took bronze in a close match against USA teammate Erev King, 138-135 in Compound Women Open and Recurve Women Open USA Candice Caesar took bronze against Colombia’s Sorieny Correa Monitel.  

Gold Medal Matches to watch TODAY:

  • Recurve Men Open USA Kevin Mather will go against Samuel Molina from Mexico.
  • Women W1 Open USA Lisa Coryell competes against Argentina’s Albina Yamila Torres.
  • Compound Men Open USA Douglas Godfrey will go against Brazil’s Diogo De Souza.
  • Men W1 Open will see USA Jason Tabansky compete against Brazil’s Helcio Luiz Jaime Gomes Perilo.
  • Recurve Women’s Team USA Casey Kaufhold, Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez, and Savannah Vanderwier go against Mexico.
  • Compound Men’s Team USA Nick Kappers, James Lutz, and Sawyer Sullivan go against Colombia.

Watch tomorrow as USA Nick Kappers goes for compound men gold and Sawyer Sullivan goes for bronze, both against Mexico. Paige Pearce is also headed to a gold medal match against El Salavador, and USA Casey Kaufhold goes for bronze against Canada. All finals will be live streamed by World Archery.
