COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – It is USA Archery’s honor to congratulate all of our collegiate student-athletes on the completion of a successful season. While many schools continued to face great adversity this season, we were excited to return to competition in many regions and at the national level and we are proud to recognize archers who achieved great success in the classroom and on the target.
The Collegiate Archery Program season wrapped at USA Archery’s Collegiate Target Nationals in Richmond, Virginia last month. Season highlights included the University of the Cumberlands taking home Overall Team Championship at Collegiate 3D Nationals, Texas A&M winning the award at Collegiate Target Nationals for the 22nd time in 25 years, and Andy Puckett winning Collegiate Coach of the Year.
USA Archery named the 2021 All-American Team at Collegiate Target Nationals. The All-American Team is composed of to the Top 25% of archers in each Division and Class that participated in both USA Archery Indoor Nationals and USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals. Collegiate Archery Program All-Americans are eligible for special discounts from USA Archery sponsors!
USA Archery is honored to also recognize the 2021 All-American Academic Team Award Recipients. The Collegiate Archery Program gives archers a chance to compete on a national level with peers who also hold a rigorous academic schedule. This prestigious award recognizes not only excellence on the archery field, but the hard work, and dedication required to balance a heavy practice and competition schedule with excellence in the classroom.
The All-American Academic Team is composed of the top 25% archers in each division and class that are eligible to shoot in the 2021 Spring Semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through fall term 2020.
The University of Pikeville’s Anna Scarbrough earned both accolades. The two-time world medalist shared: “These awards mean a lot to me because they are recognizing the work I have put into both my academics as well as my archery. When I started college, I was really concerned if my archery would suffer because I would not be as flexible with my time. Making the All-American Academic & All-American teams have really showed me that I don’t have to sacrifice one thing or the other to succeed. I can do both and be great in both archery and my academics.”
Congratulations to the 2021 All-American Academic Team. These archers receive a certificate from USA Archery commemorating their achievements.
In closing this collegiate archery session, USA Archery again thanks all the archers, coaches, program leaders and officers who dedicated so much time and effort to another wonderful year.< Back to All News
