COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery and the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) – USA have announced a new strategic partnership designed to strengthen youth shooting sports participation.
In addition, the partnership will provide advanced programming and education pathways and provide exclusive benefits for instructors, coaches and judges who contribute to shooting sports recruitment, retention and reactivation efforts.
“This represents a major step forward in advancing benefits and opportunities for individuals who work tirelessly to educate, manage and preserve programming for target shooting sports and outdoor education,” said Mary Emmons, Chief of Sport Performance and Operations at USA Archery.
“The partnership will provide a pathway for members of both organizations to access news, education, programming and events, as well as provide discounts and other promotional offers to those who teach, mentor, and inspire future generations of target sports and outdoor recreation enthusiasts.”
Matt Clarey is the IHEA’s Director of Business Development and Sales. He added, “At IHEA we are always looking for ways to help the states’ recruit and retain volunteer instructors.
“This partnership will introduce new education pathways and new benefits to thousands of USA Archery instructors and judges while also providing enhanced benefits for IHEA instructors by connecting them to the target archery community and USA Archery’s many offerings for participants of all ages and abilities.”
The Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act, initially enacted in 1937 as the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act, provides funding for states and to support wildlife restoration and territories to support wildlife restoration, conservation, and hunter education and safety program. Funds are partially derived from excise tax collected on archery equipment, arrows and accessories and redistributed in the form of grant funding to state agencies nationwide to support wildlife restoration, education, range development and shooting sports.
