Gold for the USA on the final day of the final stage of the 2025 Archery World Cup

MADRID, Spain – USA’s archers depart Spain with four medals, including recurve mixed team gold, from the Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 4.

Brady Ellison and Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez defeated Korea on Sunday in a closely fought gold medal match. The second end, won by the USA pairing, was the decider in a 5-3 contest with all three others ends split.

Ellison and Mucino-Fernandez repeated their feat from two years ago in Colombia, when they also beat Korea to win gold.

Earlier on Sunday, the recurve men’s team of Ellison, Trenton Cowles and Christian Stoddard won silver. Gold went to France after a 6-2 contest.

The compound men’s team got the first of the four medals. Curtis Broadnax, Jesse Clayton and James Lutz claimed the bronze on Wednesday with a 234-233 win over Great Britain.

That was followed on Thursday with team bronze for the 2024 Olympic trio of Mucino-Fernandez, Catalina GNoriega and Casey Kaufhold in recurve women, with a 6-2 win over Chinese Taipei. The recurve women won a medal at three of the four stages, taking gold last month in Turkey and silver at Stage 1 in Florida in April.

Ellison and Kaufhold have both qualified for the Archery World Cup Final, which will be held in Nanjing, China from October 17-19.

Most of the World Cup team from Madrid will next be heading to Dublin, Ohio for the Rebel Gear Buckeye Classic, which is the fourth and final event in the 2025 USAT Qualifier Series.

You can still register for the Buckeye Classic. This takes place from July 25-27.
