West Region JOAD Camp Announced

USA Archery is pleased to bring back the JOAD Camps for 2012.

The Paseo Vista Archery Club will again be hosts for the West Region JOAD Camp May 25 - 28, 2012. The West Region JOAD Camp is designed to introduce archers to the National Training System and provide them an opportunity to interact with an Elite coaching staff and other archers who are also dedicated to taking the "next step" as competitors.

During the camp archers will learn and practice

  • The National Training System shot cycle and shooting form
  • Learn and complete goal setting exercises
  • Learn how to better prepare for tournaments
  • Undergo extensive video analysis and critiquing by Regional and Elite Coaches
  • Learn advanced training and practice techniques that they can use at home.

The goals of the JOAD Camps are to raise each attending archer's level of expertise so that they will be better prepared for tournament competition, teach training techniques that will reinforce the lessons learned at camp, and to instill in each archer the confidence they need to train for and perform better at any level of competition. JOAD Camps are a great learning experience for any archer that is looking to better their skill sets. The West Region JOAD Camp will be held in Chandler, AZ, May 25 - 28, 2012. Plan on arriving by early afternoon on May 25 and plan your departure during the afternoon of May 28. Shooting will be done at the archery range at Paseo Park, http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=755 and  classroom lessons will be taught in the conference room at the host hotel.

Traveling archers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by parents or guardian. Transportation is very limited and for the most part will not be available during camp. Information on hotels, will be posted later in the week.

The cost of the camp is $300.00 payable to USA archery. Archers are responsible for their own transportation and lodging costs. It is recommended that all traveling archers and parents stay at the host hotel, but it is not mandatory.
