USA Archery Congratulates Recent Achievement Award Recipients

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery aims to support archers in achieving their goals and is proud to celebrate the recent successes of some of our athletes. Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Olympian awards, and Bronze, Silver and Gold Adult Achievement pins recognize individuals who have achieved increasingly challenging scores in the JOAD, Collegiate, and Adult Archery Programs.

These awards are part of the USA Archery Achievement Award Program, which provides pins for progressive scoring achievements shot at all levels. Achievement award pins are earned in sequence starting at Green and working towards Gold for both the JOAD and Adult program indoors or outdoors in the compound, recurve and barebow or basic compound divisions.

JOAD Olympian award recipients are recognized with a lightweight jacket, duffel bag and personalized plaque for Bronze, Silver and Gold scoring achievement levels. Additionally, Adult Achievement pin and JOAD Olympian award recipients are recognized by USA Archery with a certificate, letter of recognition and corresponding achievement pin.

Kinzie Thomas, a 14-year old compound archer (Fargo, North Dakota) earned her Gold Olympian Award this past quarter and shared: "I put in a lot of practice, a lot of late nights on the soccer field just perfecting everything as much as possible." To archers hoping to earn their awards soon, Kinzie advises: "If you're having a hard time, never give up. It gets better if you just keep practicing and keep going with it!"

USA Archery wants to hear from other archers who have reached these great achievements! Share your awards or story with us on social media using #JOADOlympian or #AdultArcheryAchievement, or send photos to [email protected] and we may share them.

To earn Achievement Awards, please review the scoring requirements for JOAD Indoor and Outdoor, as well as Adult Achievement Indoor and Outdoor. Archers wishing to shoot for these awards must be current youth, adult, or family members of USA Archery and part of a registered USA Archery JOAD, Collegiate or Adult club. Club leaders must request the awards at the bronze, silver and gold levels from USA Archery by submitting the request for recognition form along with a signed copy of their scorecard.

Contact USA Archery Program Manager Lorin Opfer at [email protected] or 719-866-4621 for more information.

Please join USA Archery in congratulating the following JOAD archers who earned the following awards between October 16, 2015 and January 15, 2016.
