USA Archery Awards 2016 Collegiate Regional Coaches of the Year

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery congratulates the 2016 USA Archery Collegiate Archery Program Regional Coaches of the Year. These coaches demonstrated exceptional contributions to their clubs and the Collegiate Archery Program as a whole. In the past year these coaches have shown tireless dedication to the sport, their archers have seen success in the classroom and on the archery field, and USA Archery thanks these coaches for their continued efforts.

The 2016 Collegiate Archery Program Regional Coach of the Year honors are awarded as follows:

  • East Region: E.G. LeBre, Brandeis University, MIT, Wellesley College
  • North Region: Glen Bennett, Michigan State University
  • South Region: Rodney Estrada, Emmanuel College Archery, Georgia Institute Technology
  • West Region: Stanley Cheng, UC Los Angeles

"USA Archery collegiate coaches play a key role in helping student athletes to achieve their goals," commented USA Archery Outreach Director Mary Emmons. "It is a rewarding experience for both the student athlete and the coach when an archer meets their goal, whether it is an incremental achievement, winning a competition or making a national team. The Regional Coach of the Year Award provides a great opportunity for athletes and teams to recognize and show appreciation for the hard work of their coach."

Collegiate Archery Program clubs submitted nominations for candidates to USA Archery, and each club had the opportunity to vote for one Regional Coach of the Year for their respective region.

In addition to regional recognition, each of these four coaches is now in the running for the USA Archery Collegiate Archery Program National Coach of the Year award. USA Archery will send instructions on how to vote for the National Coach of the Year directly to each Collegiate Archery Program club.

Votes will be due to USA Archery by May 9th, and the Collegiate Archery Program National Coach of the Year will be announced at the U.S. National Outdoor Collegiate Championships (NOCC) being held at May 19-22nd in Lansing, Michigan.
