USA Archery Announces Partnership with Boy Scouts of America

Colorado Springs, Colorado- USA Archery and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have created a partnership to advance the development and awareness of beginner and youth archery programs. Together both organizations will explore strategies to improve and encourage effective working relationships between local BSA councils and USA Archery, to promote instructor certification, and enhance archery merit badge programs and camp activities.

BSA is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth members and nearly one million adult volunteers. The mission of BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scouts Oath and Law.

"We are excited to partner with the USA Archery to assist the BSA with our archery programming needs. Our youth have a great interest in learning archery and are grateful to be working with this great organization in this endeavor", stated Keith Christopher, National Director, Outdoor Programs and Properties for the Boy Scouts of America.

To actively promote the partnership both organizations will work cooperatively to provide new opportunities to BSA council leaders and volunteers to engage in archery by working together to develop and improve archery merit badge programs and instructional materials for leaders, as well as improve access to USA Archery instructor certification courses and equipment.

"This partnership provides a key opportunity for USA Archery to promote safe, accessible and progressive archery programming to BSA council leaders and youth nationwide", commented Mary Emmons, USA Archery Outreach Director.
