Mail-In Tournament Series Begins

Youth and adult archers: wax your bowstrings, re-fletch your arrows, and put your game face on: the 24th Annual JOAD Mail-In Tournament Series has begun. The USA Archery JOAD Committee has announced that this tournament, a staple of the indoor season, will take place over two mail-in competitions: the first will run from November 15 through December 31, 2010, and the second will take place beginning January 1 through January 31.

Traditionally one of the most fun and least expensive tournaments of the year, the JOAD Mail-In Tournament Series offers new and experienced youth and adult archers the opportunity to participate in a national competition without ever leaving their home archery range. Archers are required to score an official indoor JOAD Round (consisting of 30 arrows - ten ends of 3 arrows each - shot at the appropriate target face at the 18 meter distance).

Complete competition rules, as well as the registration form, may be found by clicking here. Students in JOAD as well as Adult Archery Achievement programs are encouraged to participate; archers may also combine to enter a team score for a small additional fee, and join the exciting team competition! Though USA Archery membership is not a requirement for participation, it is strongly encouraged; click here to learn more about the benefits of USA Archery Individual, JOAD, Adult or Summer Camp memberships.

With a fee of just $10 per archer per category, and a team fee of just $15 per team, the JOAD Mail-In Tournament Series is also one of the least expensive competition opportunities of the year. Through this event, archers of all ages and experience levels are able to experience the fun and excitement of a national tournament, see where they would rank in a national competition, and learn valuable teambuilding and goal-setting skills.

All registration fees received from the 2010-2011 JOAD Mail-In Tournament Series will be donated to USA Archery to be used for the support of JOAD Programs. For more information, including complete rules, registration forms, and contact information, click here.
