BEIJING (AP) Italy will take on Ukraine and China will meet South Korea in the semifinals of the Olympic men's team archery competition.
South Korea, the heavy favorite for the event that it has won in the past two Olympics, fought off a strong challenge from Poland in the quarterfinals in front of a boisterous crowd made up of Koreans. The South Korean women's team took the gold in its event Sunday.
Ukraine, the bronze medalist from the Athens Games, put out 2004 silver medalist Taiwan. Italy beat Malaysia and China put out Russia.
The semifinals and medal matches take place later Monday.
