Field archery challenges athletes to navigate uneven terrain and natural obstacles while shooting targets at varying distances, elevations and angles. Competitors will shoot both marked and unmarked rounds, requiring sharp focus, strategic shot execution and strong physical conditioning.

The Field Nationals features competition in Recurve, Compound and Barebow divisions, offering a true test of versatility and technical skill in a rural, outdoor environment, and returned to Yankton for the first time since 2022.
