Three Independent Directors Selected to USA Archery Board for 2022

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Earlier this month, USA Archery announced the results of the Board of Directors Election, which included the addition of several new seats in an expansion of the Board from 10 to 15 directors. Two of these new seats are for Independent Directors, and an additional Independent Director seat will open in 2022 as Julio Mazzoli terms out after serving since 2014.

The Nominating and Governance Committee selects Independent Directors using the below USAA Board of Directors identified listed priorities:

  • Diversified candidates
  • Understanding of the NGB world and what they do
  • Non-profit sport knowledge
  • National Level Multi-Sport Organization experience (i.e. Boys and Girls Club, etc.)
  • Law Degree preferred
  • Experience in fundraising and/or foundation management/Trustee Board Member and willing to roll up their sleeves and help USAA to move to the next level in this area
  • Youth non-endemic corporate sponsor

The N&GC has selected Belinda Foxworth and Bobby Sharma to serve four-year terms from 2022-2025 and Jeff Porter to serve a two-year term from 2022-2023 (to implement the staggering of terms).

The USA Archery Board of Directors represents the interests of the Archery community and its athletes by providing the organization with policy, guidance and strategic direction. The Board focuses on long-term objectives and impacts, empowering the Chief Executive Officer to manage a staff-driven organization with effective Board oversight. Learn more about the functions and responsibilities of the Board.
