YANKTON, S.D. - Registration is now open for the USA Archery Field Nationals, USA Archery 3D Nationals, and the corresponding U.S. Team Trials, offering archers the chance to test their skills across challenging natural terrain while competing for national titles - and for some, a spot on Team USA.
These premier events showcase two of archery’s most dynamic disciplines, blending precision, adaptability and endurance in outdoor settings designed to push athletes beyond the target face.
Field archery challenges athletes to navigate uneven terrain and natural obstacles while shooting targets at varying distances, elevations and angles. Competitors will shoot both marked and unmarked rounds, requiring sharp focus, strategic shot execution and strong physical conditioning.
The Field Nationals will feature competition in Recurve, Compound and Barebow divisions, offering a true test of versatility and technical skill in a rural, outdoor environment, returning to Yankton for the first time since 2022.
For archers who thrive on instinct and adaptability, 3D archery delivers an immersive experience unlike any other discipline. Competitors will move through natural courses, shooting at lifelike foam animal targets of varying sizes, distances, heights and angles.
These courses can be physically demanding, rewarding athletes who can read terrain, judge distance accurately and adjust quickly from target to target. The 3D Nationals provide a fast-paced and engaging competition atmosphere across Recurve, Compound and Barebow divisions.
Athletes looking to compete on the international stage can also register for the World Archery Field Championships U.S. Team Trials and World Archery 3D Championships U.S. Team Trials, held in conjunction with the national events. These trials determine selection for upcoming world championship teams and require separate registration. Both the World Field Championships and World 3D Championships will be held in Yankton later in the year.
From technical field courses to adventurous 3D challenges, these events celebrate archery in its most natural form - where focus meets fitness and precision meets the outdoors. Whether pursuing a national championship, a Team USA opportunity, or simply the thrill of high-level competition, archers are encouraged to register early and prepare for an unforgettable experience.
