COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Archers, it’s time to aim for the horizon. Registration is now open for the 2026 USA Archery Flight Nationals, taking place September 3–6, at the legendary Bonneville Flight Range, set on the vast Bonneville Salt Flats.
Flight archery is a test of distance, precision, and ingenuity. Unlike traditional target competitions, the goal is simple: see how far your arrow can fly. Competitors push the limits of bow design, arrow construction, and shooting technique across open salt flats, with some shots traveling over 1,000 meters.
The event welcomes all USA Archery and World Archery Flight Divisions, including compound, recurve, and longbow, giving athletes the freedom to experiment with different equipment setups for each round.
Specialized shoot times are reserved for extreme-distance bows such as foot bows, crossbows, and unlimited flight bows, ensuring safety while providing the space needed to measure and retrieve long-flying arrows. Exhibition rounds are also available for archers looking to test new setups beyond the official competition. Participation is open to all USA Archery members, with temporary memberships available for foreign competitors.
Set against the stark, otherworldly landscape of western Utah, the USA Archery Flight Nationals offers more than a competition - it’s a spectacle of skill, innovation, and pure archery excitement. Watch your arrows soar across the salt flats and be part of a national tradition that celebrates the art and science of shooting for distance.
