LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The world’s best archers will be on show in the seventh and last leg of the 2026 Indoor Archery World Series, which also happens to be the 60th edition of the prestigious Vegas Shoot, taking place Friday through Sunday.
More than 4,000 archers from all 50 U.S. states and 70 countries will descend on the Paris and Horseshoe ballrooms for three days of competition.
Among those competing in the recurve division will be Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold, the reigning champions of the Indoor World Series.
The leading USA archer in recurve men is Nicholas D’Amour (pictured), who took silver at Stage 6 of the Indoor World Series in Mexico last month.
D’Amour (600 points) sits joint fourth in the rankings heading to Vegas, 25 points behind second-placed Marcus D’Almeida (BRA) and 400 adrift of current leader Andres Temino Mediel (ESP). The Spaniard, though, will not be in Vegas, which means the race for gold will be a much tighter affair. Ellison (395) sits eighth in the rankings ahead of the finale, with 1,000 available to the winner.
In the compound division, Stephan Hansen – set to feature for the USA at next month’s Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Puebla, Mexico – sits second in Indoor World Series rankings, just 100 points behind Mathias Fullerton, and 50 clear of Mike Schloesser.
Alexis Ruiz is the best-placed U.S. archer in compound women, having also taken silver in Mexico earlier this year. Ruiz (300) is eighth in the elite rankings, while Kaufhold – the world number three – occupies joint-11th in recurve women.
This year brings a major evolution to the climax of the tournament. In addition to the traditional 2cm X-ring face, two even tighter X-rings - 1.5cm and 1cm - will be used as championship shoot-offs progress and the competition field narrows.
These new faces are designed to separate good from truly remarkable under pressure and give fans a dramatic, real?time test of precision.
