Great guests lined up for the 2025 USA Archery Virtual Symposium

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2025 USA Archery Virtual Symposium promises to be the best yet, bringing together experts from the archery community as well as those from elsewhere in the world of sport.

“We strategically assembled the presentation topics at this year’s Virtual Symposium to pique the interest of anyone who works in sport-focused practice and performance environments, including anyone who is a fan of archery,” said USA Archery Education Manager, Kyle Bissell.

Registration is open for the Virtual Symposium, which runs from July 1 to August 28 and includes 13 sessions across six dates. Sessions are open to the public, with other NGBs or community recreation programs encouraged to attend.

EVENT INFORMATION  EVENT REGISTRATION

Held entirely online, the Virtual Symposium is accessible to individuals from all over the world. You can attend from the comfort of your own home, office, or even on-the-go.

The first session involves celebrated collegiate coach Derek Davis. His session is titled ‘Adapting Coaching Behaviors to Practice & Competition Environments’. Among the sessions to follow will be a round table with half an eye on the LA Games in 2028.

“I remember being younger and having Olympic dreams,” explained Bissell. “But the pathway was not clear for me. I want to make sure the pathway is clear for people of all ages to pursue their archery dreams.

“So – for the 2025 Virtual Symposium – three highly experienced international competitors will come together for a round table to share their tips on how to make the leap from national-level archery events to international. Join Maggie Brensinger, Ariel Fortenberry, and Dr. Candi Raines as they inspire you to step outside your comfort zone.”

USA Archery’s Virtual Symposium is a perfect opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field and gain insights into the latest research, trends and techniques. Sessions are recorded (unless noted) and recordings are provided for all participants.

Bissell outlined some of the other guest speakers for the 2025 edition, with many bringing expertise and experience that can be applied across archery and beyond.

He added, “I am so excited to share with you that we have multiple world-class presenters this year! For example, Dr. Nicole LaVoi from the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, who authored Women In Sport Coaching and GAME ON: Women Can Coach, an Emmy-nominated film. She is presenting on girls and women in sport.

“And then there is Dr. Chris Button, who has authored books on the constraints-led approach to coaching, nonlinear pedagogy, and ecological approaches to coaching. He has consulted for High Performance Sport NZ and is presenting on contemporary coaching practices.

“We also have Dr. Mark Williams, who has published nearly 500 articles, is author of The Best: How Elite Athletes are Made, and has delivered courses for the IOC, FIFA, NFL, MLB and NBA. He is presenting on The Power of Quiet Eye in Precision Sports.”

Whether a seasoned professional or just starting out, the USA Archery Virtual Symposium is the perfect opportunity to enhance skills and stay up to date with the latest trends in sports science, psychology, and coaching.

Bissell concluded, “The aim of the Virtual Symposium is to get high quality information about how to be amazing into the hands of amazing people who want to be even more amazing.”
