WHEATON, Ill. – The 2022 Illinois Target Archery Association (ITAA) State Championship was held recently on Feb. 11-13 at two locations: the DuPage County Fair Grounds in Wheaton, Ill., and Rigney’s School of Archery in Glenarm, Ill. There was a total of 290 participants across JOAD 18m, All-Ages 18m and All-Ages 25m.
The largest division was the compound men, with 13 competitors total. Aaron Flood outscored Matt Anderson for the win by just three points with a 582.
The event celebrated many successes from personal bests to new state and national records; pending official verification, 14 national records fell.
“Our State Coordinator is Randy Rutledge. He has been supporting the sport of archery for many years. He always sets a high bar for how our shoots are run and wants to make sure that everyone has a fun and safe competition. The Illinois Target Archery Association works to make our state shoots meet the same high standards as the USA Archery National shoots. Our State Championship draws archers from several neighboring states, including Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin and Indiana. We were also thankful for the support from Beiter Archery, as well as Wifler Industries,” said Dave Schaefer, President of the ITAA Board of Directors.< Back to All News
