Recurve Open Men win Bronze at Nove Mesto Para World Ranking Event

NOVE MESTO, Czech Republic - Eric Bennett led a strong U.S. squad with Timothy Palumbo and Michael Lukow. After a second place qualification score, the team was on track for a major win.

Earlier this week in eliminations, they suffered a semifinal loss to Thailand after a close match, 5-3 gave Thailand the win. Shooting today against Japan for the bronze, USA left it all on the field, taking a strong 6-0 win.

The U.S. compound open's women team also had a shot at bronze this morning. Samantha Tucker commented on social media: "Today I shot in my first team medal match with Tink Wallace and Martha Chavez. It is the first time the U.S. has fielded a women's open compound team at this event. We fell to the Ukraine by 9. We had a great time...once we all remembered to breathe."

Competition resumes tomorrow as Eric Bennett goes for individual gold. A live stream of the event can be found here. Complete results from Nove Mesto can be found here. For more, follow USA Archery on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
