Falks and Buswell Selected as Regional Representatives to JOAD Committee

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery has announced the selection of two Regional Representatives to the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Committee.

Laval "Dee" Falks (Mount Juliet, Tennessee) has been re-selected as the South Region Representative. Falks has served four years as the South Region Representative. A current Level 5-NTS Coach, Falks also serves as the Coach Director on the USA Archery Board of Directors and is a Junior Dream Team coach. 

Lauren Buswell (Westborough, Massachusetts) has been selected as the East Region Representative.  Buswell, a Ranking Officer for the State Archery Association of Massachusetts and the current JOAD State Coordinator for Massachusetts, is also the parent of a competing athlete.

Mike Cullumber, John Stover, and Mackenzie Brown will continue as the West Region Representative, East Region Representative, and Athlete Representative, respectively.

JOAD Committee Representatives focus on the following tasks as part of their Committee work:

  • Advise USA Archery staff on Outreach related issues
  • Act as a resource to, and communicate with, State Associations and State JOAD Coordinators
  • Coordinate and promote Outreach activities within their region
  • Review Ann Hoyt/ Jim Easton JOAD Grant applications and provide assistance with Grant allocations
  • Attend JOAD Committee meetings
