Colorado Springs, CO - USA Archery has announced two seminars, scheduled to take place at the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas. The World Archery Festival traditionally attracts over 1000 competitors to its very popular tournament and accompanying tradeshow.
The first of USA Archery's two seminars will take place on Friday, February 11 at 4:00 p.m. in Capri 113 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino, which is the host hotel for the World Archery Festival. The second seminar will take place on Saturday, February 12 at 9:00 a.m., also in Capri 113. The same presentations will take place on both days.
Three presenters from USA Archery will participate: High Performance Manager Robby Beyer, Coach Development Manager Sheri Rhodes, and JOAD Coordinator Diane Watson. All USA Archery members in attendance, as well as interested spectators, are strongly encouraged to participate, as several important topics will be covered that apply to athletes, coaches and clubs.
Beyer will discuss the National Ranking System that was introduced this year, World Ranking Events in the Americas, and changes to Senior United States Archery Team (USAT) criteria.
Watson will cover JOAD National Championships, the agenda for the upcoming JOAD Committee meeting, the JOAD Mail-In Tournament Series, grants for JOAD clubs, and JOAD Camps scheduled for 2011.
For Coach Education, Rhodes will present an update of the Coaching pipeline with criteria and requirements for each level of certification. She will also discuss a brief outline of coach development programs, including International Team Staffing (ITS), the Coaches' Symposium, the Coach Observer Program, and Education Grants.
An open forum will be offered following the presentations, during which attendees can ask questions and offer input.
"We're making great progress in several areas that affect our members, whether it's the way we certify coaches, rank athletes, or the opportunities provided to JOAD clubs," explains Denise Parker, USA Archery CEO. "These seminars are a great opportunity for USA Archery to reach out to the athletes, coaches and clubs who will benefit from these changes."
Archers are also invited to visit the USA Archery booth at the World Archery Festival, at which members can update their contact information in order to ensure that they are receiving USA Archery's monthly e-newsletter. Members and non-members will also be able to receive a demonstration of the organization's soon-to-be-announced online membership system.
