USA Archery Seeking 2020 Coach of the Year Nominations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – USA Archery appreciates and highly values the effort and commitment of the coaches who dedicate themselves to helping our archers grow and achieve their goals. Each year USA Archery recognizes their efforts and we invite our members to nominate outstanding coaches in each of the following categories:

• Volunteer Coach of the Year - Female
• Volunteer Coach of the Year - Male
• Developmental Coach of the Year - Female
• Developmental Coach of the Year - Male
• The “Doc” Counsilman Science Award

Descriptions of each category are defined here. Awards are based on accomplishments from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. Nominees should demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in archery in the past year. Examples of such accomplishments may include but are not limited to:

• Podium results of the coach's athletes at State, National and international events and contribution to the advancement of archery and the community.
• Creativity and innovation in continued support of athletes through the COVID-19 pandemic (i.e. significant projects implemented, creative adaptations to coaching, digital transformation, social innovation, entrepreneurship, etc.).
• Ways in which the coach has impacted or supported holistic athlete development (i.e. personal and social development, health and wellbeing and educational attainment).

To be eligible for nomination, coaches must have:

• Current USA Archery Level 2 or higher Certification
• Current USA Archery Membership

Coach of the Year Nominations may only be made by current USA Archery members and must be submitted here by 5pm MT November 20, 2020. We ask that club members coordinate and consolidate nominations to one nomination per coach.

Once nominations have been received, a committee of USA Archery Staff, elected council members and athlete representation will narrow the nominees to a maximum of 3 finalists per category.

The USA Archery membership will vote for the Coach of the Year in each category after the nomination committee has produced a slate of a maximum of 3 nominees per category.
