USA Archery earns key appointments at World Archery Americas Assembly

TLAXCALA, Mexico – Eleven roles have been filled by members of USA Archery following World Archery Americas’ Assembly in Tlaxcala, Mexico on Monday.

In addition, Phil Graves received the award for Honorary Chairman on the Developmental Committee for his many years of impactful service to grow archery in developing countries in the Americas.

"These appointments reflect the high level of expertise, leadership, and commitment that USA Archery continues to contribute to the international archery community,” began USA Archery’s Interim CEO Mary Emmons.

“These committees play a vital role in shaping the future of archery, from supporting athlete development and competition pathways to strengthening governance and expanding opportunities for participation.

“The knowledge, experience, and diverse perspectives our committee members bring will be instrumental as we continue working to grow and promote archery throughout the Americas.

"On behalf of USA Archery, I congratulate all those appointed and those who have served and thank them for their commitment to our sport."

Mary Emmons steps into two roles within World Archery Americas, having been re-elected to a four-year term to the Governance and Finance Oversight Committee and was newly selected to the Governance Advisory Commission alongside World Archery America’s Secretary General Sergio Font and representatives from Bermuda, Ecuador, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago.

Paralympian KJ Polish and international judge Leonardo Carrasco step into roles previously occupied by Jason Tabansky and Megan Tierney on the Para Archery Committee for a four-year term. Megan was also on the Gender Equity Committee, with USA Archery now represented by USA Archery’s SafeSport and Compliance Manager Nicole Glunt who will serve a two-year term.

Elsewhere, Andrew Neville extends his role on the Judges’ Committee, international recurve archer Nicholas D’Amour is one of two new faces on the Athletes’ Committee, as is coach and international judge Mandy Griego on the Ethics Committee.

Columbia University head coach, Derek Davis, will bring his vast experience to the Development Committee, with Jennifer Laux – another respected archery official – elected to the Medical and Sports Science Committee, both serving four-year terms.

USA Archery’s Marketing Manager Sierra Colson was appointed to the Marketing Committee, further highlighting the broad and deep level of expertise that USA Archery is able to bring to the international archery community.
