USA Archery Celebrates 2019 Collegiate All-American Academic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – USA Archery is honored to recognize the 2019 All-American Academic Team Award Recipients. The Collegiate Archery Program gives archers a chance to compete on a national level with peers who also hold a rigorous academic schedule. This prestigious award recognizes not only excellence on the archery field, but the hard work, and dedication required to balance a heavy practice and competition schedule with excellence in the classroom.

Chelsea Obrebski of Miami University commented: “This recognition means a great deal to me as despite all the pressure and stress of maintaining high academic standards, through hard work and focus I have been able to compete collegiately while also remaining a successful scholar. It just goes to show that if you want something bad enough and work hard for it, you can accomplish your goals.”

The All-American Academic Team is composed of archers in each division and class and based on the following criteria:

  • Archer must be eligible to shoot in the 2019 Spring Semester (Full Time Collegiate Student).
  • Required Cumulative GPA of 3.5 through fall term 2018.
  • USA Archery takes the top 25% (ranked by score) of each division and class from U.S. National Indoor Championships.
  • Archers that are in the top 25% and who meet the minimum GPA will earn a spot on the team.

Congratulations to the archers (listed here) who earned spots on the 2019 All-American Academic Team. These archers will receive a certificate from USA Archery commemorating their achievements.

The exciting outdoor collegiate season continues with National Outdoor Collegiate Championships May 16-19, 2019, in Dublin, Ohio and National 3D Collegiate Championships October 4-6th in Foley, Alabama. Contact USA Archery at [email protected] for more information.
