Students from more than 30 schools will compete in two different locations on Saturday as they take part in the OAS (Olympic Archery in Schools) National Championship.
Action will take place at the Easton Newberry Archery Center in Florida, the site for the Easton Foundations Gator Cup. There will also be competition at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence in Chula Vista, Calif.
Lake High Preparatory High School in Orlando, Fla. returns to defend its title in High School Varsity Boys and High School Varsity Girls.
Ben Yoskin and Martin Hall were part of the gold medal-winning team last year in High School Varsity Boys and claimed top spot in the OAS State Championships in Florida last month, when they were joined by Aayan Ansari.
Renessa Ghosh was a 2024 national champion in the High School Varsity Girls team category. Maitri Dalal and Rebecca Haines were alongside her at the State Championships this year as Lake High Prep go in search of a repeat.
Beaumont High School in California were 2024 National Champions and also 2025 State Champions for both High School Junior Varsity Boys and Girls.
Mountain View Middle School are defending national champions in the Middle School Varsity Boys division, though they were made to settle for silver at state level when beaten to gold by Warner Middle School.
It is a similar tale in the Middle School Varsity Girls competition. The 2024 champions were Corner Lake Middle School, with the team including Juliet Antle. Antle and her 2025 teammates - Loni Sullivan and Keelee Creasey – were top seeds in the Florida State Championships but finished with silver after a shootoff loss to Lake Mary Preparatory Middle School.
San Gorgonio Middle School will be the teams to beat in the Middle School Junior Varsity category. Both boys and girls teams were gold medalists at the OAS National Championship last year. Both head into the weekend having won the California State Championship.
The OAS National Championship is the last event of the season and is an opportunity for all OAS schools across the nation to compete. It is a single-day event involving a 36-arrow Qualification Round. National Champion awards are also given out based on performance during the Qualification Round.
