JOAD Club Grant empowers youth archers and strengthens local programs across the U.S.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club Grant has helped youth strengthen their connection to archery this year, whether picking up a bow for the first time or continuing to grow in the sport.

The Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant is made possible by archery legend, Ann Hoyt and the USA Archery Foundation (formerly National Archery Association Foundation).

Through contributions from the USA Archery Foundation, USA Archery supports clubs who are actively implementing the JOAD Achievement Award Program by providing up to $2,000 grant awards annually for items such as targets, stands, bows, arrows, general supplies, and instructor and coach certification courses to support the growth of the club’s infrastructure.

Melinda Hawley of C.B.A & You, Inc. in Missouri stated, “We have been a recipient of the JOAD grant a couple of times, and it has absolutely helped our program be able to draw more people in and be able to grow.

“We hadn't been able to offer an outdoor program until we received funding for outdoor targets and now funding for timers to be able to run our own outdoor tournaments. This will allow us to prepare our students for outdoor competitions across the country.

“We have seen our students become even better at indoor competitions because of having the opportunity to practice and compete outdoors. We're very grateful for the funds from this grant.”

In total, 11 clubs from nine different states were supported in 2025. Recipients include:

  • Asheville Archery Training Center, NC
  • B.A & You, Inc., MO
  • Clover Leaf JOAD, PA
  • Crowfoot Rod and Gun Club, PA
  • Gilbert Archery, AZ
  • In-Range JOAD, KY
  • Ithaca Archery, NY
  • LHYA- Arch City Archers, MO
  • Midwest Mavericks Archery Club, IN
  • Prairie Bowmen INC., NE
  • Show Me Shooting Sports, MO

Sarah Bradley with the Asheville Archery Training Center talked about the importance of the grant, “With this grant, our club will be able to expand our programming to better serve community members interested in compound archery and to support our sustainability as a nonprofit organization.

“Creating a welcoming and supportive community is an important part of our mission and we appreciate USA Archery's help in expanding our capacity so that we can welcome community members interested in all kinds of archery.”
