USA Archery Kicks Off 134th Outdoor Nationals

DUBLIN, Ohio - The 134th U.S. National Target Championships and U.S. Open kick off in Dublin today with over 400 archers competing in the senior and masters divisions. Following official practice today, the next two days of qualification will determine national titles and rank archers for the exciting head to head matches of the U.S. Open.

For eligible participants, qualification will also stand as the World Archery Championships and Pan American Games - U.S. Team Trials, Stage 1 to nominate a strong squad for 's-Hertogenbosch and Lima 2019.

New this year - the afternoon sessions of qualification days will feature optional mixed team and team elimination matches! As USA continues to be a dominant force internationally, much of our strength comes from success in team competition, so USA Archery is increasing opportunity to practice this fun competition style on the national stage. Archers picked their own teams to compete with friends and are looking forward to the experience.

Saturday, the U.S. Open will feature elimination matches for all categories. The gold medal matches for all senior categories will be contested in a special U.S. Open Finals on Saturday evening. By popular demand, that means that senior barebow men and women will join recurve and compound archers in this arena showdown for gold! If you are unable to join us and cheer on the field, tune in for the live stream here.

The fun continues this evening with the Welcome Social at Pins Mechanical Co. and all are welcome and encouraged to attend, beginning at 5pm. The USA Archery Annual Meeting will also be held on August 9th at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dublin at 7pm.

Follow live results this weekend here and don't forget to tune in for the U.S. Open Finals Live Stream at 5pm ET on Saturday, August 11th.
