COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is proud to celebrate the hard work of our Collegiate Archery Program student-athletes. Competing at the collegiate level takes a high level of dedication to balance academic and athletic pursuits and for the archers who achieve high marks both in the classroom and on the target, USA Archery recognizes their efforts with All-American Academic Honors. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and those who have been named to the 2017 All-American Academic Team!
The All-American Academic Team is composed of the top 10 archers in each division and class based on the following criteria:
Congratulations to the archers (listed below, or click here) who earned spots on the 2017 All-American Academic Team. These archers will receive a certificate and letter from USA Archery commemorating their achievements.
Judy Zhou, who competes for Columbia University's Varsity Archery Team shared: "It can be a challenge to shoot competitively and still find time to tackle the mountain of readings, projects, and papers from a full college workload. Amidst practicing and traveling for tournaments, my teammates and I constantly have these looming deadlines in the back of our mind as we crack open our textbooks whenever we can, even as we are waiting for shooting to begin. Having recognition for these efforts is great because it is a dedication to a set of challenges that we overcome on a daily basis."
Nathan Yamaguchi of Chandler Gilbert Community College agreed: "I'm very honored to be acknowledged as an All-American Academic. It's nice to be recognized for the work I've been doing in the classroom and on the field."
